In the beginning of Yendra, the creations of gods, the Dwarves, the Elves and the Humans, lived within the lands of Yendra, where much of the world was unoccupied or very dangerous. With the Dwarves mostly in Kelnon creating their fortress of Kor, the Elves deep in the Shaelwood creating the citadel that would become Silna, and the Humans in Nemir with their coastal bastion Ventorma, much of the rest of the world is void of intelligent life as the creations of the gods ran rampant. All of the races were mostly separated except for occasional fighting for resources and early diplomatic communication as they established footholds within the world. The ancients assisted in keeping these elder races alive as well as continued their work on the other continents, creating more races and creatures. It was during this time that any idea of barrier between Yendra and the divine was unthought of. The world was sparsely populated; filled with few civilizations, animals for food, and most importantly the failed creations.
This era was thus officially dubbed, The Era of the Failed. This is the time when the most terrible of monsters begin to be formed. Whether failed creations of the more goodly gods, or intentional creations from the less moral gods, the world slowly fell into despair, with many of the ancient races closing themselves behind walls and only fighting with each other for resources. This era was an era of war against and between the Failed.
These wars were bloody and large, for the most evil of creatures vied against each other for control or stability on the surface world. These wars, battles and struggles for power lasted for over 500 years. Between what would become the devils and demons, these wars would sunder the landscape that the gods created for their creations. The ancient races would fight when necessary, however preserved life as best as they could and tried their best to stay out of the fights.
Through this all, a single demon stood out amongst them all. A single demon decided that the fighting was pointless and that there was a need for stabilisation. This demon, Palator, would not join the devils in the fight either. Instead, he left. Disappeared into what remains of the forests and the landscapes of Nemir. During these wars, entire scouting and hunting parties would wind up dead, seemingly killed by a single entity, and that of demon essence. Thus, Palator would become a legend among both demons and devils as a force not to be trifled with.
Towards the end of this era, the gods decided that the Failed had caused enough destruction and intervention would be required. Thus a proposition was put forward by the celestial forces of the many gods. An offer was proposed to the individual Failed factions to willingly leave to a new dimension created for them, Centorium. The devils then had a meeting between the most powerful of the devils and the leaders of the individual factions. Palator would even arrive at this War Council uninvited, knowing he had as much right to be there was anyone, and those that disagreed were quickly cut down after getting in his way. After some time of deliberation in a meeting known as The Delegation of the War Council, had a majority in favor of working with the celestials. One quarter of this War Council, about 4 of the more prolific devils and elementals, led by the Efriti, Calcifer, didn’t agree with this decision and betrayed the devils by informing the demon factions of the impending celestial and devil attacks. This would push the world into its second era of extreme wars and complete change.
